The WAA - Seattle Chapter 2008 Scholorship Fund was awarded to
Chelsea Harrington. She has sent us the following note.
Dear Wisconsin Alumni - Seattle Chapter
Thank you so much for the generous scholarship you awarded me
for the 2008-09 school year. I am grateful for the
scholarship and wanted to thank the alumni chapter for
continuing to fund this worthy cause.
Fall semester has been extremely busy, but I'm loving
UW-Madison even more my sophomore year. I am taking a variety
of interesting classes, such as microeconomics, African
history, journalism, and women's studies. I have been
fortunate to have great professors who are willing to open
their doors to me during office hours and are always happy to
answer any questions as well as offer constructive feedback.
I plan to apply to the Wisconsin School of Business
undergraduate program in early 2009 and I'm crossing my
fingers that I'll be notified of acceptance by June.
In terms of extracurriculars, I work on the scholarship
committee at my sorority, Delta Gamma. Recently, I was
nominated for the outstanding Greek Scholar Award and also
interviewed for a position on the Wisconsin Alumni Student
Board and should be hearing about that in the near future. I
was also inducted into the Madison chapter of the National
Society of Collegiate Scholars in September.
All in all, life as a Badger has been fantastic! I'm gearing
up for finals and looking forward to coming home to Seattle
for winter break to catch up with family and friends.
Thank's again for your generosity,
Chelsea Harrington
